#53 Go To a Comedy Show

On Friday night, our first night hanging with Brad and Aria, we went into Atlanta to a comedy club called The Punchline. Apparently, every single funny guy (and gal) has done a show there. The walls are lined with pictures of people who have done shows there - Dane Cook, Eddie Murphy, Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Stewart...you name the comedian, it seems that they have been there. Anyway, admittedly I did not have very high expectations for the show. I guess I was just worried that maybe we would get picked on in the audience or the comedians would be really crude or smutty, both of which I do not find funny very often. I am happy to say that my expectations were exceeded a million times over! There was an opener and two main acts and the show was close to two hours. They were all HILARIOUS! When we left we were talking about being hoarse and our cheeks hurting from laughing so hard. My favorite comedian was Stewart Huff. I looked him up on YouTube to see if he had any good clips I could share but there were only a few and they were just OK but didn't represent the hilarity we witnessed. So go to his website, www.stewarthuff.com , and see if he has any shows coming near you. If he does, go! You will not be disappointed. The other guy has been on TV a little bit and was a contestant on Last Comic Standing - his name is Dale Jones. Check out his website: www.dalejonescomic.com . He was extremely manic and totally reminded me of Kramer from Seinfeld because he has ca-razy energy. Except I only thought Kramer was mildly funny and I thought this guy was hysterical.

So if you have the opportunity to check out this comedy club, DO IT! They clearly book great comedians. Brad and Aria said they have been to the club several times and have never been disappointed. Their website is www.punchline.com .

  1. That sounds like fun! I really want to see Dane Cook, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
